Woodworking Workshops

Our gardens offer a productive space for teaching local youth the basics of woodworking while providing them with an opportunity to confidently build lasting structures within their community.

Through the guidance of a licensed handyman from local organizations, such as TNO Trades Connect, our free woodworking workshops assist with skill development and encourage youth to pursue careers in trades.

Previously, our initiative was run by Neighbourhood Community Officers (NCOs) Viktor and Farhan from the Toronto Police Service as part of Project Bloom. Generously supported by Home Depot and Starbucks, this project allowed children and youth to help build raised garden beds, benches, a work table and new ramp for our garden at 53 Thorncliffe Park Drive.

Interested in attending a free workshop? Follow us on Instagram or check out our events calendar  to learn about upcoming events.

53 TPD Garden and 71 TPD Garden are open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. from April to October.

TPUF offers various workshops that may differ per season depending on the interests and involvement of participants, availability, and grants.

We are incredibly grateful to our supporters! Collectively, we make an impact on a high-needs community in many different aspects.
