Volunteering with Thorncliffe Park Urban Farmers is a hands-on, welcoming way to connect with your community, learn new skills, and help grow food and green spaces in Thorncliffe Park.
Everyone Is Welcome
Our gardens are open to volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Whether you are an experienced gardener or planting for the first time, there is always meaningful work to do and something new to learn.
When & Where
🌱 Season: April to the end of October
🕙 Gardening Sessions:
Saturdays & Sundays | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
📍 Locations:
- 53 Thorncliffe Park Drive (start here – garden is behind the building)
- 71 Thorncliffe Park Drive
You can drop in during any gardening session — no registration required.
What You’ll Do
Volunteers help with a variety of activities, including:
- Planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting
- Maintaining communal vegetable gardens
- Managing pollinator gardens
- Composting and garden upkeep
- Participate in workshops and community events
Most of our workshops and special events take place during regular gardening session times, making it easy to participate while volunteering. Bring your water bottle and gardening gloves, if you have them – we have all the other supplies.
Sharing the Harvest
We believe food should be accessible to everyone. All volunteers are invited to share in the harvest as a thank-you for lending a hand. Produce is shared freely with those who help in the gardens.
Workshops & Events
Throughout the season, TPUF hosts free workshops, children’s programs, arts activities, and special community events.
