Artists in the Gardens
Our beautiful gardens allow us to connect with nature in many different ways and we are pleased to provide our community members with the opportunity to explore them through a variety of artistic workshops. As our gardens bloom, so does our creativity.
More Than a Garden
Together, with our partners, TPUF has created a maker space nourishing our community in a variety of ways.
We work with local art organizations, such as Dormer Window Studio with notable artists and writers including Adeeba Aslam, Vinny Lam, and Rajinderpal S. Pal, to offer free creative writing and art workshops exploring our relationship with the natural world, rootedness, seasons and community.
Each workshop, led by professional working artists, takes place in our gardens and is an invitation to tap into our maker self through language, colour, ink and more.
Interested in attending a free workshop? Visit our events page or find us on Instagram to learn about upcoming events.
TPUF offers various workshops that may differ per season depending on the interests and involvement of participants, availability, and grants.
“My grounding anchor”
In admiration of all of our stories known and unknown, revealed or hidden deep within and too shy to pop out…each vegetable and fruit that grows shares our inner stories.
Garden Art: Season 2025 — TPUF’s Brick Works Magazine
For the 2025 season, TPUF accepted artwork and creative writing submissions from Thorncliffe Park residents to assemble our very first magazine. Hard copies were displayed on site at Evergreen Brick Works within a wooden magazine box built by our volunteers.
TPUF Art & Stories Show at the Evergreen Brick Works
Being located in Thorncliffe Park, one of Canada’s largest newcomer and apartment high-rise communities, TPUF compiled a diverse range of artwork, photography and writing from local residents for its Art & Stories Show at the Evergreen Brick Works in 2024.
Artwork and writing was displayed on A-frames but can be viewed digitally here!
